A. Morning Musings

5:15 am It is + 11 C at the moment, with a forecast high of + 32 C and a 40% chance of showers/thunderstorms this afternoon. It looks like any outdoor activities should be handled in the morning.

The first activity is coffee. It should be ready by now. Mmmm.

We have a few "daily life" chores to handle this morning. We are still trying to make sure that we have the forms all filled in for my retirement. A check yesterday indicated that there was still something that needed to be filled in by people at the university for medical coverage. We are also having some difficulty making sense of correspondence we have been having about our last filing for income tax.

The main chore for today will be to take the cement blocks in our back alley to the landfill site. This should take a couple of hours.

I also hope to begin work on wiring my Lower Mainline for power blocks using the terminal strips I purchased in Edmonton. I should also visit the local hobby store and discuss painting the wooden trestle pieces before assembling the kit. The pieces at the moment look like brown plastic rather than a more realistic heavily weathered creosote wood finish. But because of the nature of the structure any such painting should be done before assembly as it will be difficult to reach all sides of the individual pieces of the finished structure.

C. Actual/Notes

11:40 am Another good morning. We went for an early morning walk before the temperature started to rise. I think we have the Income Tax sorted out and are now waiting for a revised assessment statement. I have an appointment at 1:30 at the uni to get some forms signed for Alberta Blue Cross. And the cement blocks have all been removed from the back lane! The Chores list is looking almost bare without that item.
