6:40 am Here is my first test, using an image of the Byron Bay lighthouse:
Success. The appropriate software for this is called PhotofunStudio. I have added images to the February 16 -18 pages. I was pleased with the software. I was able to identify an image within a file folder, resize it, and save it to another folder and then repeat the process without having to respecify any of the locations. 7:30 am
6:25 PM We went into Lismore today with two goals in mind. One was to use the high speed line at the uni to purchase and download a photo editing software package called Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. This was successful but it took much longer than I had anticipated: about an hour to download the software and another 45 minutes to install it.
The second goal was to do a little bird watching. This was also successful. We saw at least 4 lifers: the Royal Spoonbill, the White-breasted Woodswallow, the Sacred Kingfisher and the Clamorous Reed-Warbler. We were also able to identify a Black-winged Stilt, which we have seen previously. The digital image was critical to identifying the Clamorous Reed-Warbler and was valuable in confirming the White-breasted Woodswallow and the Sacred Kingfisher. I am delighted with the results of our first such trip with the new camera.
But I still have much to learn before I am comfortable with the Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 software. It may be awhile before I can add images of these birds to this page. 8:45 PM
