A. Morning Musings
5:15 am The weather appeared to clear yesterday in the late afternoon. Although it is still dark outside, the wind seems to have disappeared so I assume we will make it out to Thursday's Plantation today.
While reading "Wordplay" last evening I was startled to hit a section on choice that was almost an identical statement to what I had been reading a day earlier in the Philosophy Now magazine on Sartre. The connections in one's life are really incredible. The blending by John Langdon of Taoism and Existentialism is a delight.
I have just reviewed my ToDos and Project Management pages. This is always a good exercise as it reminds me of all the Learning in front of me and helps me ensure that nothing gets forgotten. I will now listen to the Haydn CD I bought a couple of weeks ago while making some notes on "Wordplay". 6:00 am
B. Plan
Chores: Visit to Thursday's Plantation near here.
Exercise: Exercise & Beach walk.
Philosophy: Make notes for "Wordplay".
Technology: Begin reading "Digital Photography".
Mathematics: Continue reading "Everything and More".
C. Actual
6:00 am Now to begin making notes for Philosophy: "Wordplay". Done. Enjoyable! 7:00 am
2:00 PM We are back from our visit to Thursday's Plantation. It was very enjoyable and we learned a bit about the many varied uses of tea tree oil (e.g. mosquito repellent!). Lunch at Lennox Head gave us an opportunity to revisit a favorite sidewalk cafe. Back in our unit, I finished reading "Wordplay".
I received an email indicating that a new SD memory card has been purchased for my camera. Next week I should be taking photos with it. 2:15 PM
2:15 PM A little notemaking should complete my attention to "Wordplay". Done. 2:30 PM
D. Reflection
9:00 PM I have had a skim of the "Digital Photography" slim volume. There are a few good ideas in it, but much of the book is about editing images, whereas my interest in more on Learning to use the various features of the camera to take fairly good pictures (both technically and aesthetically). I will have another look at this in the morning and try to distill out the important points for my purpose.
Staying with Technology, I want to have a look at the Windows xp magazine that I bought a couple of weeks ago.
I also want to begin reading "Teacher Man" by Frank McCourt.
I am beginning to winnow out some of the minor activities and reduce the overall list of items for February down to something that I can focus on. The current list has only 12 items and Technology is primarily down to XML with Stylus Studio and Digital Photography. Mathematics should soon be back to my major interest and Birds is likely to move up as I envisage using the new digital camera to help identify some of the them. 9:15 PM
