This church was originally founded in 1565 and was razed time and time again, by pirates, until the final Spanish Colonial Renaissance style structure was built in 1797 and reconstructed in the late 1880’s.The church is made of native coquina stone and features an impressive steeple donated by Henry Flagler. PLANNING
I put a set of 4 geocaches in my GPS unit that were all in the central tourist area of St. Augustine. The idea was to try for these while touristing the main attractions.
OUTCOME
This was my 3rd search of the day. This was in the midst of the tourist trap section of town. Here is my posting to this geocaching.com website:
