GCB34B Hot Shots N 29° 53.871 W 081° 18.665Difficulty 1; Terrain 1; virtual; Creator: GatoRx and meadowmuffin Date First Hidden: 12/07/2002 Date Last Found: 02/16/2011 St. Augustine, FloridaDescription An interesting little spot to look at while in St. Augustine. A bit of wandering may be required to get close enough, but an interesting piece of history awaits you. There is no need to enter the fort to find this one (and no, the item of interest is NOT the fort itself.) To claim credit, e-mail me the answers to the following questions: 1) What is at these coordinates? 2) How was it used? Please send the answers to me either before or as you log your visit, and please don't post your answers in your log, even if they are encypted. Posting without e-mailing your answers will result in swift deletion!

PLANNING
I put a set of 4 geocaches in my GPS unit that were all in the central tourist area of St. Augustine. The idea was to try for these while touristing the main attractions.
OUTCOME
This was my 2nd search of the day. This was only a few blocks from the Tourist Information Center and was located inside the outer perimeter of the fort. Here is my posting to this geocaching.com website:
An interesting fort - well designed. TFTC. email on the way. Here are a few photos:
St. Augustine fort
Cannons
Geocacher at coordinates of site (where cannon balls were heated,
and then fired at wooden ships, setting them on fire).
I am now 2/2 for today.
