8:00 PM Life

Another full day. We returned to downtown area that were in yesterday and had a very enjoyable walk along through the business district where we saw the 3 week old occupation of Zuccotti Park as well as the famous Bull of Wall street. We then walked along the east side of the Hudson River for a short while and saw two large sailing ships.

In the afternoon we split up to do a little shopping and agreed to meet in front of the Apple Day store at 3 PM. This seemed like a good idea at the time. I stopped in at a smaller Barnes & Noble store where I bought 3 more books (all fiction) and then headed for our meeting spot. When I got about a block from the area I found myself in dense crowds as everyone was watching a large parade on 5th Avenue that contained large sections (floats, bands, important dignataries) from each Central and South American country. It took me almost 20 minutes to make my way to the Apple store but I knew I was still early so I divided my time between watching the parade and keeping my eye out for the rest of our group. They arrived a few minutes late but we had no trouble spotting each other.

We then found a nice Irish pub and had a pleasant break before heading back to the hotel.
