11:00 am Literature
While shopping at Costco I spotted Michael Ondaatje's latest novel, "The Cat's Table". It was a quick purchase. I am looking forward to it.
[Addendum: 3:00 PM] I have finished reading Jose Saramago's "The Elephant's Journey". This was his last novel, completed in 2008. It is a delight, full of humor and irony, and indicative of a Nobel prize winner who is capable of not taking himself too seriously.
8:00 PM Cooking
I bought one cooking magazine while in Montana last week. It was called Heartwarming Soups and was published by tasteofhome.
I decided to try one of the featured recipes called Cassoulet for the Gang. Basically it is a variation of a French stew with pork tenderloin and garlic sausage in a bean soup base. It was quite good but I forgot to take any photos. The actual recipe is on the website (do a search for cassoulet).
