1:00 PM Life

The morning was devoted to working on the raised garden beds. The sides of all the beds are now in place but there is still some work to be done adding some of the supporting beams. The wood is now all cut to size and the preservative applied to the freshly cut ends.

We have also cleaned up most of the rotted wood that was previously part of this area of the back yard. It still has to be taken to the landfill but at least the yard is looking a little less ratty.

We are finally sensing that the end is in sight. The beams still need to be inserted and the hardware and cable to prevent the sides from bowing out over time need to be purchased and installed. We are still debating whether to stain the outside of the beds. Then we need to add dirt to the inside of the beds. Finally we will need to add gravel to the pathways between the boxes. There is still work to be done.
