Yesterday was a hot one: 30+ for 5 hours. It has been a few years since we had a day like that. Today should be a little cooler and then it will return to the low 20's.
7:00 am Literature
I have finished reading Anton Chekhov's "Ward No. 6 and Other Stories". The last story was called "The Bishop" and was a fitting end to the collection.
I thoroughly enjoyed this set of stories. Every single one was a delight. Every single one made me slowly put down the book and think about what I had just read. This was time very well spent.
I have selected my next book: Ann Patchett's new novel, "State of Wonder". I enjoyed her earlier novel "Bel Canto" and when I saw this book at Costco, I immediately bought it.
9:00 am Geocaching
I took my Montana 600 out for a test of both profiles. I used the automotive profile with the City Navigator road map to get me to the parking area and then a single tap on the screen switched the unit to the Backroads topo map which pointed the way to the cache site. It was a perfect trip. The Montana put me within a meter of the cache and I soon found the container. I am beginning to become more comfortable with the unit.

The countdown continues: my life-total is now 998, only 2 more finds to reach 1000. I have selected 2 "personally special" caches for numbers 999 and 1000 so it is now a waiting game until I find an opportunity to drive to the area where they are located.
