7:00 am Model Trains
I have had a good morning with the Ship It! software. I have added all of the industries and products that my railway layout will be handling. The next step is to provide details on the consignee requests and the shipper productions. Then I need to set up the train schedules. Once that is done (later today) all that remains is to tweak these values until I obtain an acceptable value for the "balance" between demand, capability and capacity and I will be ready to begin an operational sequence.
7:40 am Geocaching
I have downloaded the EasyGPS software from the Web and installed it on my PC laptop.
1:00 PM Puzzles
I played about 8 games of Go and at one point was playing at level 10. My previous best was level 8. I am beginning to make better use of the whole board and to not focus to quickly on the immediate battles.
3:30 PM Technology
The last 2 hours have been a struggle. My Macbook Pro started behaving strangely, and a couple of programs repeatedly hung. I restarted the computer and that seemed to help but when I started up Dreamweaver to update this web page I suddenly realized that the program couldn't find the entire set of files. I was able to verify that the files were on the hard drive, but Dreamweaver was unable to connect to them. When I called up a window that would let me manage these path names I received a couple of screen displays that were totally new to me. It took another hour before I was able to find a way to reconstruct the appropriate path names for both the local and remote server files. At the moment everything seems to be working okay. I still have no idea what caused the problem in the first place. A bit unsettling.
