9:20 am Technology

I phoned Parallels about my problem with the upgrade and then worked with a techie for about an hour as we went through a number of steps. I ran into a little difficulty when a message appeared indicating there was not enough space on my hard drive but he was able to guide me through some additional steps so it work off an external hard drive.

As near as I can tell, windows xp is now working on my Mac again. I hope that the fact that it is now operating off an external hard drive does not cause problems later on when new upgrades come in.

The only reason for even having windows xp is so I can run an application called Ship It! that sets up a switching list for my model train layout.

I have just sent an email to MRC inquiring about the status of the upgrade to my throttle and base station. It has been just over a month since I sent these two components back to them (in New Jersey). Hopefully nothing untoward has happened and they arrive soon. But it is a bit of a worry.

[Addendum 11:00 am] I received a prompt reply from MRC saying the upgrade was completed on April 19 and mailed back on April 20. It should arrive soon.

2:00 PM Puzzles

Go

I have been playing SmartGo on the iPad. My game is improving, a little. At one point I was at level 9 but I then slipped back to level 7. I am still playing too fast. I think it is time that I did a little reading on the game as well.

4:20 PM Geocaching

The rain has let up and so I walked over to one of my nearby geocaches that had "disappeared" and replaced the container.

GC2R55P The Brick

I then hopped in the truck and drove over to the south end of Lethbridge to search for a cache that first appeared near the end of April. The coordinates indicated it would be near one of Alberta's large furniture stores, called "The Brick".

Here are a couple of photos:

The container was a small pill container wedged into the bottom of the brick. Neat.
