I have tested the track in the Coaldale Yard with CN7985, an SW4 diesel switcher. It only took about an hour to get this working perfectly. Only two areas needed a little attention (i.e. placing of thin sheets of cardboard under the roadbed) and then the unit could travel throughout the yard at a very slow speed without any stalling.
This switcher will remain in the Coaldale Yard and will be the primary means for rearranging cars and forming consists for the other units to take out onto the road.
I will use CN7847, an RS-3 diesel, to handle the switching in the Jasper Yard as well as in the Black Diamond Yard.
I have cleaned all of the track in the Jasper Yard and nailed down a couple of the spur lines. I still need to run a final test of RS-3 on all of the lines.
