I am just leaving the house for a drive into Calgary.
My first stop was Chinook Hobbies in Calgary. I asked whether they had any CN Wheel Stops but it turned out that they were out of stock. I then asked if they had anything that would serve as a switch control panel, but they said no. I browsed around a bit, but didn't see anything special that caught my eye.
My next train stop was at Trains and Such. Yes, they did have some CN Wheel Stops. I bought 4 packages (2 sets of stops/pkg).
I then asked about switch control panels. The previous owner overheard me and said they might have something in a bin of "old stuff". Further browsing and I bought 2 refrigerator cars from the 1950's era. One was owned by Swift and the other by Fruit Growers Express. I now have 4 reefers for this era, the others owned by Home Hardware and CN.
I then visited Dave Bedard (The Installer) who will be installing decoders in the 5 locomotives that I dropped off at his house. Everything seems in order and I should be able to pick them up the first week in June.
I now have lots of work to do:
