Description

The cache is located in Popson Park along the Oldman River. The river valley has a lot of wildlife in it and rattlesnakes are one of them. Before reaching into any possible hiding spot probe it first to see if any wildlife is lurking there. Aę̌ᴈ瞿 Popson Park is 133 hectares (329 acres), a large, open flood plain area, accented by stands of cottonwood trees bordered by the Oldman River. Adding to its charm, sections of grassland in Popson remains very nearly pristine. Walking around, visitors see extensive stands of blue gama grass, needle and thread, and other native prairie grasses, as well as clusters of pincushion cacti. Popson Park was named after a local family that has been in Lethbridge since 1886 as part of the large group of immigrants that were a significant part of the early history of Lethbridge. The container is a 2 pound plastic peanut butter jar.

Comments Wow this was a tough one. Searched back and forth several times before we found it. Great hide, thank you

PLANNING

The weather is staying unseasonably warm. The forecast is sunshine with a high of +21 C. Definitely a day to try for the caches in Popson Park.

One last look at a great hide

This was a superb hide. I am impressed with geezer55's sense that there might be a place behind the growth for a cache. I really enjoyed finding this one.
