Description

A traditional cache in a traditional hiding spot. The clue is a mystery killer so do not read it unless you do not want to seek. This geocache is located on the riverside in Riverside, one of the oldest settled areas in Medicine Hat, this pathway is a favourite family walk and the city has ensured that this pathway remains open for pedestrian traffic. The entire walkway is undeveloped but very well defined and the cache is just a short walk from parking. The pathways can be slippery, especially in winter so use caution. This cache is a Lock n Lock and can be reached from the trail, it is just one step towards the river. The entire area suffered in the flood of last year but the pathway has been substantially cleared. The water level from the flood is very apparent. This is another in-city area that is a great place to see wildlife. Windows don't overlook you at this cache but it is very possible that non-geocachers enjoying their nearby property might be able to see you. This cache is not recommended for night access as the number of dogs in nearby homes can result in a lot of noise, my dog loves this cache, one of her favourites for sure. Please let others know how you feel about this cache by making an entry in the online log here on geocaching.com.

Hints

Forty inches over the ground.

PLANNING

We left Lethbridge at 7:00 am (temperature -5 C). We had a list of about 20 geocaches that were potential targets for the day's searches. These were all downloaded onto our GPS units, we had printouts of the descriptions, and warm clothing.

OUTCOME

This was our sixth attempt of the morning. This was an interesting path along the South Saskatchewan river.

well done!

We have now tried for 6 caches and have found 5 of them. It is time for lunch at Tim Horton's. We are in an urban environment so may as well take advantage of it.
