West LethbridgeDescription Take a walk in the park and enjoy the view. I think this lovely place could use a few more. Hints none Comments This one was tough ... nice quick find ... went back and found it
The aerial photo of the map suggests the cache is near the west end of the bridge to the large island in Nicholas Sheran lake.
I have had 3 previous attempts at this without any success. I have had some difficulty with a bouncing GPS but on my third try it seemed to be on the east end of the bridge.
PLANNING
This will be my 4th serious attempt at finding this cache. I have received two hints: one from a friend who said the magic word was "under', and one from the creator of the cache saying that the container was magnetic.
I no longer need the GPS unit as I know the location. It is just a matter of searching with my eyes and hands.
OUTCOME
DNF. Incredible.
I focused on the east end of the bridge and spent almost 30 minutes under the bridge searching the metal beam, but with no success. The wind was very strong, about 70 kph so I had no difficulty with muggles.
I had a quick look at the west end (where my GPS unit focused the first time I tried to find it) but the leaves were drifted in to a depth of almost 3 feet so I left. If I am going to pursue this further I need some confirmation that this is the end I should be examining.
