Description

We've always felt that there should be more then one cache in this lovely park, so here is another. Henderson Lake is surrounded by a 2.8 km paved and shale walking path. There is a 4.3 km path around the perimeter of Henderson Park intself. The Park is 47 hectares (117 acres) built around a 60 acre man made lake and has been in existence for almost 100 years. The lake was originally a slough, but William Henderson, one time Mayor of Lethbridge, was instrumental in establishing the park and the lake.

The level of difficulty is 3 as this is very high muggle territory. We saw one of these containers and thought it was a neat idea! As with all caches - PLEASE rehid exactly where you found. Original contents include a FTF Timmies gift card, a geocoin to send on its way, and some very small trade items.

UPDATE: 10 Aug 08 - Cache has been muggled - Container is now a magnetic key holder and a replacement log started. So bring you on writing stick.

PLANNING

I downloaded the geocache locations in Henderson Park a while back. It is time I see what happens when I visit the park and try to find them. The weather is overcast and light rain comes and goes. Not a great day for geocaching but I am eager to rectify at least one of my DNFs from yesterday. I should have checked the geocache website before going out and I would have realized that one site used a magnetic cache holder. That pretty well determines the type of location where it could be found. Now to find it.

OUTCOME

We are back from a geocache adventure to Henderson Lake. Yesterday I went 0 for 5. Today was better: 3 for 4.

I missed this yesterday by relying on my eyes. Phyllis found it using her hands.
