CBC Headline: Work Not Complete, PM Tells Troops in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Stephen Harper heaped praise on his audience of 300 Canadian soldiers, assuring them their mission in Afghanistan was invaluable but also incomplete. Wednesday morning's breakfast visit was meant to rally the 2,500 troops stationed in the country. Harper is doing better in Afghanistan than he is in Ottawa.

Australian Headline: (from The Australian): I Won't Step Down Before Election, Insists Howard

John Howard has scotched speculation he might retire ahead of this year's federal election despite his warning yesterday that current polling shows his government is headed for electoral annihilation. This is the opposite from what I was saying yesterday. We shall see.
