Birding Notes

8:30 PM We spent about 3 hours this afternoon looking for birds near the Par 3 golf course. It was great to be outdoors again. Following that I went for a fitness walk in the coulee and spotted a few more birds. One of these was a Lesser Scaup, which was a new lifer for us. After a nice break (and drink) with neighbours I told Phyllis about it and we went back with the camera and I got a few good pictures.

Here is a photo of the slough near the golf course.

SUMMARY of the session: Much of the time was spent looking at Yellow-rumped Warblers. I think we must have watched over 20 of them. We saw 23 different birds, 12 for the first time this year, and 2 were lifers. A great day!
