February 20

Birding Notes

5:30 PM May 10 I have reviewed and labelled my iPhotos for February 20. This entry will chronicle the birdwatching activities.

We began the day with a visit to "Flamingo Road".

Here is an early morning picture of a White Ibis.

The following image is of the white morph of a Reddish Egret in breeding plumage:

Here is one of a Couch's Kingbird. We first saw this bird yesterday but this is the first time I was able to take a photo of it.

What is a day birding without at least one unidentified? Here is a photo of a raptor, but which one is the question?

While I am at it, here is another one. This is a hummer, but which?

Here is an action shot of early morning birders at work.

The hummingbird is just to the right !

Here is a table summarizing the day's observations.

SUMMARY of the session: We saw 8 different birds, including 1 new bird - a lifer, and 2 unidentified birds.

I have just received an email indicating that the mexican bird field guide that I ordered has been shipped. I will revisit this page when it arrives.
