PROGRESS
To date we have completed qualitative research of materials from books, journal articles, and the internet in order that we may better understand the theory behind experiential learning as well as developing references for future endeavors. From this, we have identified and defined over 50 different methods of experiential learning ranging from incidental learning that takes place simply by experiencing the goings on of our day to day lives, to the more structured on-the-job development that occurs in such programs as co-operative education and internship. We have also developed a glossary of terms that will help us to better understand the concepts we are researching.
From this information, we will attempt to further the current programs at the University of Lethbridge, formulate proposals for future programs, form a consortium of those interested in the subject matter, develop a journal article for publication, create an informative and educational website, and create reference material suitable for future endeavors. Our goal wit the web site is to provide readers with updated information weekly. This will include a relevant article 400 to 2000 words in length. Contributions from anyone interested would be greatly appreciated. Topics may be of the contributors choice regarding the area of experiential learning.
Our efforts are currently centred around a journal article that is to
be a summation of the qualitative research already completed. This website
is in its infancy and will change periodically to reflect new findings.
