1 (one) Arial 12 pt line space By Your Name in Arial 12 pt flush left 2 (two) Arial 12 pt line spaces please make the sure the line spaces are Arial Your text in Times New Roman 12 pt justified - Use one-inch margins on all sides.
- Use a single space after all terminal punctuation.
- Use 1 (one) line space between paragraphs and DO NOT TAB.
- Use Canadian spellings (refer to Gage Canadian Dictionary for English spellings), use double “l” in words like “travelling”, use “programme” instead of “program”, there is no extra “u” in “honorary” or “glamorous” even though there is a “u” in “honour” and “glamour”.
- Do not use a comma before the “and” in a list.
- Don’t go crazy with capitalization, we are capitalizing minimalists here (we capitalize titles when they precede the individual’s name but not in other cases, dance forms generally do not get capitals unless they are named after a country).
- Increase the margins by 1/4 of an inch for extended quotations.
- Parenthetical references or endnotes are accepted. Do not use footnotes. If you require an endnote, please insert the same numeral beside the superscripted numeral that the computer automatically places (e.g., Whittaker claimed that the dancer broke her nose pirouetting into a metal palm tree.22). Endnotes and footnotes are always the first thing to get completely messed up when translating a document from one piece of software to another, therefore, your addition of the endnote numeral is essential.
- Documents are accepted in WordPerfect, Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. PC or Mac files are fine.
- Use the following formatting for references (as well as the Canadian Dance Style Guide for more specific guidelines).
- References (in Arial Bold 12 pt)
- 1 (one) Arial line space 12 pt
- Please write all references in Times New Roman, 12 pt, single space, flush left (ABSOLUTELY NO TABS ON TOP OR BOTTOM LINES).
- Place 1 (one) line space between entries.
