Basics:

I was born in, and spent my childhood and early youth (1970-1992) in Kolkata (Calcutta), a lively city of twelve million people in India. I then spent a few years (1992-1998) in Chennai (Madras), after which I moved to North America, first to the State College, Pennsylvania, United States (1998-2000) and then to Canada (2000-2002 in Winnipeg, Manitoba; 2002-2003 in Fredericton, New Brunswick; 2003-present in Lethbridge, Alberta).

Education:

School: St. Xavier’s School, Kolkata, India (1977-1987).

High School: St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, India (1987-1989).

College: B.Sc. Presidency College, Kolkata, India (1989-1992).

University: M.Sc. (by Research) and Ph.D., both in Theoretical Physics, Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, India.

Supervisor: Prof. Parthasarathi Majumdar.

Thesis titles:

M.Sc.: Some Aspects of Electromagnetic and Gravitational Scattering at Planckian Energies (available as Electromagnetic and Gravitational Scattering at Planckian Energies. ).

Ph.D.: Aspects of Gravitational Scattering at Planckian Energies.

Post-doctoral Fellowships:

1.       Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos (Formerly Center for Gravitational Physics and Geometry), The Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania, USA (1998-2000).
