Surveying a stream reach, Cottonwood River, northern BC
My teaching philosophy focuses on engaging students in course content in order to motivate them to put in a strong effort. I'm a strong supporter of field-based research and learning, which allows students to use theoretical knowledge from the classroom in applied situations.
I aim to develop three main skill sets in the context of the subject I'm teaching, that will be useful regardless of a student's future career path. These include research, critical thinking, and communication skills.
The most important thing is that we enjoy ourselves, both in the classroom and in the field.
