Tigana learns about
School in Meteghan
Ecole Stella-Maris

Grade 2 classroom in Meteghan
At first glance, the Grade 2 classroom in Meteghan's École Stella-Maris looks much like any Grade 2 classroom in Alberta...

But upon a closer look (click on picture above to zoom in), we see that everything in this room is in French!

(Of course, there are classrooms in Alberta that are French too.)

Students in Meteghan start taking formal lessons in English as their second language in Grade 3, though most know English already from watching English Canadian and American TV and movies.

School logo (The camera flash has whited out the "S" in "Stella" but should read, "École Stella Maris") The plaque underneath states that the Minister of Education opened the current school building in October 1992.

Tigana cannot resist trying out the playground at École Stella-Maris.
