We purchased our first buff “show” cocker in 1985 after having owned two cocker “pets”. We had lots of fun showing her to her championship and learning more about the breed. “Tarah” passed away in 1997 of cancer .... we miss her terribly. After purchasing/leasing several bitches who either couldn't get pregnant or developed some kind of health problem, we are happy to say that we now have a line of dogs that we can work with.
Because of the health problems that cockers are known for, we have committed to health test our breeding dogs in order to produce the healthiest puppies possible. We do the following health tests on all dogs before they are bred:
Our dogs are house dogs and are first our companions and friends ... if they happen to do well in the show ring (which is what we breed for) then that is a big bonus! Some of our successes include:
Our hearts belong to the buffs (especially silver), but we love ALL the cocker colours. Silverwood Cockers focuses on the buffs but we co-own some parti's with Visichy Cockers. You can see them on the Visichy Cockers website.
