Disclaimer: Once one reaches a certain age -- say forty -- one inevitably turns into an old crank who constantly sends off missives to the editors of his (least?) favorite newspapers. Given that the letters are the products of, well, a crank, they rarely see the light of of day. As a forty-something crank myself whose letters to the Globe and Mail, the National Post, the Calgary Sun, and, well, pretty much any respectable paper rarely see the light of day, I have been forced to turn to the internet .
