I flew out to Vancouver last Friday to join in Vancouver’s Drupal Camp 08. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Drupal Camp:
” …a volunteer-organized, peer taught, multi-track conference focused on the Drupal open source content management system…In a collaborative environment, the participants will share knowledge, establish best practices and learn new techniques. “
After ponying up $100 for a 4 star hotel room and a rental car for $22 bucks a day (priceline.com of course), I was all set. A 5 hour delay at the airport helped me get my slides in order. The conference itself was $21 bucks, and that included lunch and a t-shirt - you can’t go wrong!
When I wasn’t speaking, I was checking out talks on how to harden Drupal sites, create an installation profile, theme Drupal, and generally swap tips with a VERY ACTIVE community. If only Calgary’s Drupal community was this well organized. I’m coming again if they’ll have me - kudos to Rain City and others for putting on such a great event!
Slides and stuff are available here.
That's it. What Next?

Thanks for making the trip out Micheal! Glad you enjoyed the event - We set out to create an event which treated everyone like rock stars with quality food and drink and eco-friendly t-shirt to go along with the remarkable line-up of presenters.
Maybe you have to rally the Albertans for a Drupal Camp out there. Betcha a few of the Raincity crew will make the trip.
PS Is priceline available with Canadian credit cards now? Last i checked was no-go for Canadian addresses.

Hey Dave, Thanks again for putting on such a solid event - the crowd was A+ as well! I’d love to put together a Drupal Camp out here, I even have a venue in mind.
re: Priceline - took my credit card without any issues (hotel and car).
