Ten years ago today I stood perspiring at the altar, in front of a volunteer pastor dressed as a wizard (yeah, that wasn’t intended - and enough fodder for a separate post) in an empty, sterile recreation of the Canterbury Chapel with only one thing lighting up the room - Stacey’s smile.

Stacey and I last Summer I still catch glimpses of that light today, but as the facebook crowd can tell you - people change, situations change, families change. Change is the only constant in life and the one thing I’m most proud of is through that sea of changes, there has always been someone behind the scenes holding on.

Thank you Stacey, for believing in me when I said I was going to be something. When I quit my job with nothing to go on to, and for holding fast while I attempted to carve out a life for us. Thanks for saying yes when I suggested the insane idea of uprooting our family to move to a small city without much of anything going on. Thanks for knowing my flaws, and seeing beauty despite them. Thanks for holding down the fort while dad is away. You have held fast when others might not have. Thank you for teaching me to think past myself, and to embrace what being a father truly entails.

Thanks for 10 wild, crazy, romantic, dangerous, frustrating, passionate years. We’ve got alot of work ahead, but its great to reflect on what we’ve built and dream of where we can go from here.

You’re my number one bean,
Michael
