Purpose

The purpose of this course is to introduce ways of effectively using technology in education.  It is one thing to be aware of how a computer application works but it is quite another to be able to see ways that it connects to curriculum and to learning.

Audience

Wether you are an expert with technology or a neophyte, this course has something for everyone.  If you are already familiar with the tools presented, then you can help your fellow students with using the software, take the tool to the next level, or generate creative ways it can be integrated into the curriculum (go beyond the requirements); what you get out of this course is entirely up to you.  In either case we expect that you will focus on the integration of the technology in your teaching. Ultimately this is where we would like all of you to be thinking - how can I use this in my teaching and planning and how can it have the most impact on the learning of my students?

Course Content

The Course’s content will be posted on this web site and you will be expected to work through the material according to the Schedule for each week. Within each week, we will examine a different area of technology for teaching and learning. The topics covered in this course are not exhaustive; this course is meant to be a starting point. Each student in this course has to take what will be discussed and figure out how it best fits their circumstance.
