Semester Events
October 19 , 2007
Hey everyone! Thanks for all the support so far this semester, we have a good list of members and our events so far have been succesful.

There are some items to keep in mind:

Monday, 29 October 2007 and,

Wednesday, 7 November 2007 will be our initial topic nights regarding euthanasia apologetics. Both of these meetings will cover the same ground. We'll watch Turning the Tide, a provocative DVD about euthanasia and follow it with basic apologetics training.

Our reasoning for the multiple nights is that it will allow a greater number of members to make at least one.

In mid november we will hold another set of meetings, where we will also put together the display we are planning for our euthanasia awareness event scheduled for late novemeber. Volunteers are welcome to help us out!!

Update

The website is being updated in preparation for the upcoming year. Here is a headsup for activities this fall:

-Rush week will be in early September, this is where we sign up the majority of our members, please keep some time in your schedules to help out at the table!

-We are planning a welcome back BBQ at the Cornmaze again after our amazing time last year, date TBA.

-After some conflicts and confusion with our email list, and various email accounts, we will be starting over to streamline our communications. It is crucial that everyone signs up again at rush week!

Hope to see you all back at school in September!

Fondue Party!!
April 20 , 2007
Hey ProLifers!
Have you begun studying for your exams yet? Even if not, you are probably aware that this long and arduous process is soon to commence and will probably consume most of your otherwise-enjoyable waking moments for the next two and a half weeks.
Well, this is just bad news that you know already. But wait… there is something to look forward to! Because on Friday night, April 20, Lethbridge Students for Life everywhere will be laying down their books and notes and highlighters and coming together for a smashing FONDUE PARTY, and for a few hours they are going to forget that exams ever existed because they will be having so much fun.

Details are as follows:
WHO: anybody. Even if you’re not exactly a member, and you can bring friends.
WHAT: Fondue party. Food, games, socializing…
WHERE: Maaike’s house in Lethbridge. For directions, or if you need a ride, please read to the end of this news item.
WHEN: 7:00 pm Friday night, April 20.

March 29 is the big day! Stephanie's presentation begins at 12:15 in the
Atrium. Don't miss it!

Silent No More
March 28 , 2007
We still need more people to sign up for the "Silent No More" demonstration on March 28. Otherwise we will have to cancel the event, and that would be a real shame. We've all skipped class for one thing or another before and unless it's absolutely unmissable, that's not too much to ask. This is your opportunity to be a voice for the unborn! Remember, LSL members should dress in black (or dark colors) and meet in the Atrium at 11:45 (just before class changes). We will provide you with tape that you may put around your arm or over your mouth. We will also provide pamphlets made up specifically for this event: the idea is to be completely silent but pass these pamphlets out to passers-by. After 1 hour we will move as a group up
to the SU building/bus stop area and remain there until 1:45 (just after classes begin). Email sarah.vanderweide@uleth.ca to sign up!

Our goal for this evening is to form two committees: a "social committee" to look after activities like the up-coming Games Night, movie nights, and other fun stuff, and an "events committee" to organize events such as our Diaper Drive/Baby Fair in December, the debate next spring, and other awareness campaigns.

Corn Maze & BBQ

We’ll be going rain or shine, so dress warm, don’t wear your best clothes, and bring a FLASHLIGHT. The cost is $5/pp and if you need a ride we will pick you up at 7:00pm and drop you off by the library entrance/bus stop at the UofL.
Please feel free to bring a friend (even if its not a U of L student). We hope to see you there! Sign up here.
