#1. Read sections 7.1 to 7.6 on pages 187 to 200 and summarize the important physics discussed on these pages.

(a) Solve Schrodinger’s equation for the “infinite spherical well.” The potential is zero for 0 < r < R and infinite for R < r < 00.

(b) Use the asymptotic form of Bessel functions for large arguments to obtain an explicit expression for the energy levels.

(c) How many electrons, including spin, can occupy the first three distinct energy levels?
