IDST 3850 - Money, Culture and Globalization
This course emphasizes the role of material relationships, including financial transactions, in the changing configurations of human interaction generally identified with the concept of culture. It highlights especially the complex of transformations, past, present, and future, whose tendency is to transcend boundaries, compress space, and accelerate time in the ongoing course of globalization.

Fall 2004

IDST 2850 - Globalization Since 1492

The aim of this course is to present a broad, interdisciplinary overview of historical transformations over more than five centuries which have produced the current human condition on our shared planet.
