Major Assignment for IDST 2850, Globalization Since 1492
Write an essay of 2,400 to 3,000 words on one of the topics listed below. Base you research in whole or in part on one or more of the course texts, namely Hall’s The American Empire and the Fourth World, Galeano’s Open Veins of Latin America, and Sklair’s Globalization.You are not restricted to the course texts. You may submit a progress report for written comments by the professor on October 20 (i.e. Its optional). No grade will be assigned in the professor’s reply. The purpose is to provide the students with helpful suggestion on issues of interpretation, possible sources, etc.. The essay is due on November 24. No substitute topics will be accepted.
