Welcome to Globalization Studies.

In July of 2002 the University of Lethbridge established a Coordinatorship of Globalization Studies (GS). The goal is to establish a fully accredited interdisplinary program in the field. We emphasize innovative uses of the world wide web as a means of advancing inclusiveness and democratization in the complex of processes that go by the name of globalization. So far GS has developed two interdisplinary courses. Videos of the lectures are available on this site. The courses are:

IDST 3850 - Money, Culture and Globalization Spring 2005 See videos of this class
IDST 2850 - Globalization since 1492 Fall 2004 See videos of this class

The GS program is coordinated and instructed by Dr. Anthony Hall. GS courses are broadcast live most Wednesday nights 6:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m. MST throughout the semesters. Viewers are encouraged to participate interactively through the internet chat.

February 28, 2004 - This site will officially continue under the URL www.globalizationstudies.ca. It will focus primarily on text based articles, relating especially to indigenous views of globalization.

For archived streaming videos of Globalization Since 1492, and Money, Culture and Globalization check out the video streaming page. www.globalizationstudies.org

The RCMP taped themselves in their behind-the-scenes operations during the Battle of Gustafsen Lake, the most aggressive police and military operation within Canada in the twentieth century. In referring to this Indian war in British Columbia in 1995, American Judge Janice Stewart, who viewed Above The Law, Part 2 as part of the court proceedings in the extradition case of USA versus Pitawanakwat, made reference to "uncontradicted evidence that the Canadian government engaged in a smear and disinformation campaign to prevent the media from learning and publicizing to true extent and political nature of the events." She also referred "the occupation by the government of Canada" of the First Nations' "sacred and unceded tibal land in British Columbia."
