If you are flying, taxis from Trudeau International Airport to Hotel du Fort cost approximately $35.00. The taxi ride takes about
20 minutes.  There is a shuttle that costs $15.00, but that only goes to the Bus Terminal and then you will have to take a city bus
to the hotel. That trip takes about 1 hour.

CANADIAN CENTRE OF ARCHITECTURE

The Hotel du Fort is ½ block from the Canadian Centre for Architecture.

The building is magnificent--it was the Shaughnessy House, which was built in 1874 and classified a historic monument by
the governments of Quebec and Canada. With its Devencore Conservatory and impressive reception rooms, it is one of the
rare nineteenth-century Montreal houses open to the public. http://www.cca.qc.ca.

MONTREAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

is also within walking distance of the hotel, as is Concordia University and Le Faubourg. The Museum will be hosting an
exhibit of the work of the great Canadian painter Emily Carr during the time of the Symposium. Website for the Museum of
Fine Arts is: http://www.mmfa.qc.ca/en/index.html.

LE FAUBOURG STE. CATHERINE is an undercover market with colourful food and clothing stores, as well as a host of
small multi-ethnic restaurants. It is well worth a visit, if only for the ambience (and if you want to spend some money).
