Education
I am an Assistant Professor with the Department of Kinesiology since July 2006. I have a M.Sc. (1st class, Human Movement Sciences) from the Université de la Méditerranée (Marseille, France), and I graduated in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the Université du Sud Toulon-Var (Toulon, France). In 2005-2006, I was a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia).

While we understand a significant number of processes about the skeletal muscle function, metabolism and adaptations to training, the BRAIN is still considered a "black box". The neurons in the central nervous system require adequate O2 delivery to sustain daily functions and maintain motor unit activation during exercise. Therefore, a critical research question in physiology is how the brain regulates performance, and what influences the decision to stop exercise?
Our main goal in the "Integrative Physiology Unit" is to examine the intricate interplay between cerebral blood flow, oxygenation and central fatigue in humans.
