On-campus childcare, as an outstanding campus community need – this is not a new issue – but it is an important issue – one that must be addressed.

Our research, as well as the University of Lethbridge’s research, indicates a great need for on-campus daycare. Our campaign has been met with wide and varied support by all varieties of members of the U of L community. You may think this issue doesn’t affect you personally, but…

The creation of on campus daycare would not only remove a fundamental barrier to education here but it would also reflect well on the values of equity, diversity, and well being that this University claims stands for.

Recent and previous study results heartily demonstrate that the following community members, who struggle to balance the daily demands of work, education, and home, will benefit the most from an on-campus daycare:

•Students with young children

•Students of First Nations ancestry

•Single parents

•Immigrant families

•Part-time enrolled students
