Research
Our initial step was to investigate who would utilize a daycare should it exist.
With grant funds from LPIRG, DAC hired two research students who conducted a
study between May and September of 2005 regarding this. The research team was
comprised of two undergraduate students (Catherine Gannon and Alix Little), who
worked under the supervision of Dr. Steven Ferzacca and Dr. Janice Newberry,
of the Anthropology Department.
There was an overwhelming response.

From 1138 respondents: •1034, or 90.90% were in favor of on-campus childcare. Over 100 people stated that if on-campus childcare were available they would access it. The majority of respondents said that on-campus daycare would have a positive impact on the perception of the University of Lethbridge

“I would see the University of Lethbridge as a more responsible, compassionate university, not to mention a university that is concerned with providing a quality working environment for employee/students” (qualitative survey respondent)
