Have you wanted to build your own computer but did not know where to start?  Then this workshop is for you.  Join us on Saturday, November 26th for the second part of the Department of New Media PC Building Workshops.  This workshop will be split into two sessions:

Session 1: Overview & Demonstration of the Assembly Process

11:00 am – 1:00 pm, room: C640
- Step-by-step overview & demonstration of the assembly process
- safety guidelines, tools, and materials

Session 2: Operating System Installation & Question/Answer Session

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm, room: C640
- installation of the operating system, drivers, and trouble-shooting
- question and answer session to follow

No registration required.  Bring your lunch and any questions.  Faculty and staff from the Department of New Media and the IT Department will lead the workshop and will happily answer any question you may have.


Note: Part I (The Planning and Design of a Custom-built PC) usually takes place sometime in the middle of the Spring semester.  So, if you would like help in designing your own PC, including selecting components for particular computing needs, then watch for announcements early in the Spring 2013 semester.
